US military deaths in Iraq war at 4,143
Aug 17, 8:03 PM (ET)
By The Associated Press
As of Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, at least 4,143 members of the U.S.
military have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003,
according to an Associated Press count.
The figure includes eight military civilians killed in action. At
least 3,368 died as a result of hostile action, according to the
military's numbers.
The AP count is one fewer than the Defense Department's tally, last
updated Friday at 10 a.m. EDT.
The British military has reported 176 deaths; Italy, 33; Ukraine, 18;
Poland, 21; Bulgaria, 13; Spain, 11; Denmark, seven; El Salvador,
five; Slovakia, four; Latvia and Georgia, three each; Estonia,
Netherlands, Thailand, Romania, two each; and Australia, Hungary,
Kazakhstan, South Korea, one death each.

He could join many others, if the Hague was utilized appropriately. The |
Georgians, in beocmmong part of the coalition of the willing, hoped to
achieve the status of an untouchable Israel, supported by the US and
excluded from normal, humane enquiries as to actions. But then there is
the appropriateness of the intervention of Russia to consider. Was the
intervention sanctioned int4ernationally? Did it stop at ending an
action or did it go further? |

There's your problem. It's what the Russians "say". They said they
were leaving last week. Lie. They said they were leaving Monday. Lie.
Now it's Saturday.
If there was really genocide, they would have raised the issue with the
UN and opened the doors wide open for international observers to witness
the evidence. Hasn't happened, because what they claimed didn't happen.

Yeah, because it was witnessed and investigated by non-Yugoslavs and the
matter was sent to the UN where the international community concluded
genocide had occurred. Nobody except the Kremlin and their state-owned
TV have claimed there's been genocide in Georgia. |
