"To the impious and lovers of this world the Christian life and the
morality of the Gospel is a scandal and foolishness, but it is wisdom
before God. You should do what the Gospel teaches and not as people say.
Let the mockers mock, but afterward they will weep bitterly, and already
too late, for their conscience itself will reprove them."

St. Tikhon of Zadonsk.

"Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked."
Psalm 82:3-4

Draw nigh unto God and He will draw nigh unto you.

As an ex Christian i challenge that claim in total. A goodly proportion of
Christian dogma is based on rules of life, morality and decent living. Not
surprising, since religions are the work of man and man alone.

Atheists do not challenge these moral principles, they challenge only the
superstition and the lies that are perpetrated trying to establish the
existence of a god and in the case of Christianity a totally implausible
story of a god with a mortal son on earth - these we challenge.

Yes but the Gospel is what people taught and wrote about a long time ago.
People who, if here today, would be totally out of touch with life in the
twentyfirst century

Yes...... another insecure religionist who, unable to prove his god, could
only attack those who questioned his failure to do just that.....!

Indeed. Excellent policies that should apply to all, regardless of whether
they follow imaginary gods or not.

How do you know?

What I know from your response is,
you do not have one that of any relevance,
so you wrote the above.

Sad.
Very sad.

If you MUST know how I know
- I use my brains along with logic and common sense, totally devoid of
superstition, hearsay handmedowns - that is how I know

Oh and if the truth was known, so was he, but in his day
it was not prudent to make such a claim.........
