Isa 58:2
2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that
did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me
the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
(KJV)

For years now the American Center for Law and Justice has taken on the
mis-named [ANTI] American Cilvil Liberties Union( ACLU)
They have consistently beaten them. This an organization worthy of support.

ACLJ Working to Protect the Ten Commandments
The American Center for Law and Justice has been on the forefront of the legal
battle to protect public displays of the Ten Commandments in communities across
America. The ACLJ is currently involved in more than one dozen challenges to
the Ten Commandments by providing legal counsel, advice, and representation in
court. A brief description of some of the key cases is listed below.
1. Mercer County, KY - The ACLJ represents Mercer County, KY in a case
involving the display of the Ten Commandments - along with other legal and
historical documents - in a public display at the courthouse. The ACLU filed
suit to get them removed. The ACLJ successfully convinced a federal district
court judge to dismiss the ACLU suit. In a decision in January 2003, U.S.
District Court Judge Karl S. Forester said it is clear that the "primary
purpose or effect of the display is not to endorse religion as a matter of
law." The ACLU is appealing this decision to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the
Sixth Circuit. The ACLJ is still waiting for a date to be set for oral
arguments at the appeals court.
2. Chester County, PA - A federal appeals court ruled that a bronze plaque of
the Ten Commandments that has been in place at the Chester County, PA
courthouse for 83 years is constitutional. The ACLJ filed a friend-of-the-court
brief with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in that case asking
the appeals court to uphold the constitutionality of the plaque. In June, the
appeals court determined that the plaque was constitutional concluding that a
"reasonable" person who views the historic plaque would not read it as an
"endorsement of religion." If the case is appealed to the U.S. Supreme Court,
the ACLJ will file a friend-of-the-court brief asking the high court to protect
that display as well.
3. La Crosse, Wisconsin - The ACLJ has asked a federal district court judge in
Madison, Wisconsin for permission to enter a Ten Commandments case in La
Crosse, Wisconsin on behalf of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, which owns the
monument and the land it occupies. A federal district court determined that the
display was unconstitutional and ordered the city to remove it. The ACLJ has
gone to court because no one is representing the interests of the Eagles. The
ACLJ has asked the court for permission to enter the case and to set aside a
decision in July declaring the monument unconstitutional. The ACLJ is still
waiting for the federal court to act on its motions.
4. Plattsmouth, NE - ACLJ is representing the city of Plattsmouth, Nebraska in
a case involving the display of a monument containing the text of the Ten
Commandments in a park. A federal district court declared the display
unconstitutional and the ACLJ appealed to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the
Eighth Circuit in May 2002. Oral arguments in the case were presented in
January 2003. The ACLJ is waiting for a decision by the appeals court.
In addition, the ACLJ is currently litigating Ten Commandments cases in Garrard
County, KY, Richland County, OH, Adams County, OH and is providing help in
challenges to Ten Commandments displays in Pleasant Grove, UT, Everett, WA,
Allegheny County, PA, Barrow County, GA and other locations across the country.
