A new email list has been created for members of the Bahá'í Faith
called "Bahai-Mental-Health." It is a list for Bahá'ís with mental
disorders, for Bahá'ís who have a family member or are in a close,
caring relationship with a person who has a mental disorder and for
Bahá'í health and mental health professionals. Teachers and counselors
who regularly deal with mental health issues are also invited to join.
Authors who are writing or have written articles or books about any
mental health topics are welcome.
To subscribe, send an email to bahai-mental-health-
subscribe@yahoogroups.com
The purposes of the list are to create a safe haven and online support
group; to act as a forum for discussion of mental health issues within
a Bahá'í context; to share real life and Internet resources; to
promote wellness. The list is founded on the belief that a free and
full consultation between Baha'is with differing perspectives will
lead to better understanding of and new approaches to mental health.
Upon joining the list all subscribers will receive an introductory
document that elaborates on the list's purposes. It contains suggested
topic areas, instructions on posting top the list, list rules, a
confidentiality statement, book references, and a compilation of
statements about mental health from authoritative Baha'i sources
including the Guardian and the Universal House of Justice.
To receive a copy of the Welcome document in PDF format without
joining the list, simply click on this link:

The document can be shared with interested parties or posted to other
lists as long as attribution of its author and the group it describes
are included. |
