" And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to
those who love God, to those who are called according to [His]
purpose.

For whom He foreknew, He also predestined [to become] conformed to
the image of His Son, that He might be the first-born among many
brethren;

and whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called,
these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also
glorified. " Ro. 8:28-30

****************************************************

in this text of Scripture the Apostle to the Gentiles explains the
method God employs each time the Almighty brings to Christ another of
His chosen ones.

Paul begins by explaining that God's bringing out of the world the
elect as the objects of salvation from the unregenerate world of
unbelievers by naming the called ones who have that special love of
God while the religious but unbelieving world simply puts on as a show
of righteousness...

the difference being grounded in the fact that the called ones are
given the love of God by His indwelling Holy Spirit which the
religious, but profane, are not given. ( 1 Cor. 2:14; Jn. 14:17 ) true
love of God comes from God giving it to man ( 1 Joh. 4:10 ) and not
that man in his unregenerate state decided he'd ' make a decision for
Christ '. Joh. 1:12,13

with God loving the ones whom He's called according to His purpose,
the apostle goes on to say " For whom He foreknew He also did
predestinate." here we find that the foreknowledge of God is based in
God Himself since " He first loved us " ( 1 Joh. 4:19 ) and that the
foreknowledge of God is not post-knowledge...

post-knowledge is a heretical doctrine which seeks to say God knows
who will choose Christ of their own free will and thus grants them
grace because of this good work. this is the glory seekers hope... a
plan of salvation based on good works so that man gets the glory for
the performance.

but the Bible teaches foreknowledge and not post-knowledge, so that
the glory for the performance goes to God in Christ.

the foreknowledge of God... that in the secret counsel of His
purpose, He has chosen certain individuals to be the objects of His
special saving love, can be seen in persons who can not have possibly
saw their need for salvation and thus have made some decision of their
will to elect themselves unto the love of God... the unregenerate hate
Christ. Joh. 15:25... of which the real elect were once all part of.
Eph. 2:1-3

these 4 Bible men, at least, were yet fetuses when God elected them
to salvation apart from decision making... these are : Jacob; David;
Jeremiah and John the Baptist.

wonderfully, " So then it [does] not [depend] on the man who wills
or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy. " Ro. 9:16 the
" it " that Paul is referring to is " that God's purpose according to
[His] choice might stand, not because of works, but because of Him who
calls " Ro. 9:11

the glory goes to God through Jesus Christ for His saving work of
first loving the ones He chose in His secret counsel in eternity past
( Eph. 1:3-14 ) foreknowing them and predestining them to being found
by Jesus Christ, who came " to seek and to save " and no glory goes to
man who claims he first loved God and decided in and of himself to
follow Jesus unto salvation by his highly bloated and over-rated free
will. Joh.1:12,13

the free will of man wants to " be like God " and is an open door
for Satan into man's heart; man thus chose by it to quickly shrug off
the Living God opting rather for the god of the dead in the Garden of
Eden. man is " dead in trespasses and sins " ( Eph. 2:1 ) just as
this is what the stated outcome would be for man when God told him
beforehand.

so man, in his dead state of being, comes up with all sorts of vile
solutions thinking he is God indeed and elects himself to salvation.
he thinks he is God and he's conjured up his own ideas of how he
brought the universe into being by his concoction of the Big Bang
theory; his Evolution theory and the like.

man writes his own theology thinking he is God. he's come up with
Universal Salvation where everyone is saved... where some have to go
to Purgatory to burn out some residual penalty Christ couldn't
propitiate.

in his imagination of being like God but yet being man, he also,
like Adam, could not find a helper suitable for himself, so he's
concocted a mate... Mary, Co-Redeemer.

to prove himself God he thinks he gets messages from God in the form
of prophesies, tongues, visions and dreams... he falls over backwards
so everyone thinking like him can see him in his state of
God-likeness.

giving God all of the glory in Christ results from His indwelling
Holy Spirit, who witnesses to the Person and work of Jesus Christ,
( Jn. 15:26 ) and perverting His Word so as to suit the doctrines of
man for his glory, is the difference between those who are foreknown
by the will of God and those who are foreknown by the will of man,
( 1 Jn. 4:5 ) in his quest to " be like God, " raising himself from
the spiritually dead by his own wit and wisdom.
