Former archbishop admits shuffling abusive priests
Associated Press - 11/15/2008 4:10:00 AM

The former head of Milwaukee's Catholic community has admitted
returning sexually abusive priests to active ministry without telling
parishioners.

In a portion of a videotaped deposition released this week, retired
Archbishop Rembert Weakland says he knew no parish would have accepted
such a priest unless it could be said he had gone through
psychological examination and was not a risk to the parish.

Weakland gave the deposition in June to a lawyer representing seven
men and women who claim they were assaulted by priests. Their lawyer
released the videotape after the Archdiocese of Milwaukee argued last
month that the deaths of key people involved in covering up sexual
abuse made it difficult to get a fair trial and a loss could bankrupt
the archdiocese.

The lawyer says the trial next summer would be fair because Weakland's
testimony proves a cover-up.

Do your coworkers know you still play with rubber duckies when you take your
bath?

There you go - not willy nilly hiding them around, but evaluation and not
determined to be a risk.

But they passed the evaluation first.

What is new?
This "FORMER" bishop was a closet liberal fag himself.
He took advantage of the Catholics in his diocese and was "retired"
at the first opportunity in 2002 when the cleric crisis broke.
He will NOT be going straight to heaven.

No evaluation, that is why he covered up

Competent evaluation and not a risk. Can't you read your own post?

He state they would not accept them unless that had been done.....that
is why he did not tell them what they were getting, because he could
not tell them it had been done, because it had not. You are clearly
to dumb to check out the disposition.
