I just received the following:
Greetings Cyberbrethren:
A fraternal warning . . . I just heard from the Luther USA executive
producer, Dennis Clauss who cautions that if people do not get out to see
the movie in strength next weekend, there is a good possibility major
chains will drop the movie and then folks will not be able to see it in
theaters.
So, what you must do -- do QUICKLY. Here is the tough, hard reality of
"show biz"
Any Lutheran congregation that doesn't get folks out to see the movie is
.. . .well, I'm tempted to say "nuts" . . . but that would be very rude .
.. .let me just say, "Entirely missing the boat."
Read this from the producer:
Thanks for sharing. The weekend box office was disappointing. We had
hoped to piggy back off a good affinity turnout to get the mass market
excited. But the Lutherans didn't show. Our best plays were in Boston,
San Francisco, and Baton Rouge. Worst plays were Minneapolis, Milwaukee,
Cleveland. Hope folks don't think it will be around for a month. Another
weekend like the past one and "Luther" will be gone.
So, get those folks to the movie, or it is going to be gone from the big
screen.
Cordially,
Paul McCain

Stop begging. If the message isn't strong enough on it's own, maybe the
message should be updated......or abandoned. I think they used this
same "see it, or it will be gone" sales pitch for every crappy Pauly
Shore movie too. |

Ya know, sometimes I REALLY wish you would just SHUT UP.
THIS is one of them.

Gee Scott, for a Christian, you're not very forgiving. You really need
to work on that if you expect to get into heaven. |

I live in the SE Massachusetts area. I would very much like to go see
this movie and to bring my fiancee (who is Catholic) to see it. I
went to the movie web site:
http://www.lutherthemovie.com
And it looks like in MA, it is only playing in Cambridge. I really
can't go to Cambridge to see the movie, particularly if I want to
bring my fiancee. This may be a rhetorical question, but why isn't
this movie being more widely distributed? |

Shows how much you truley know of Lutheran teaching. Works aren't what
get anyone to Heaven.
But much easier simply trolling than contrbuting anything of real value

More than likely due to funding.

I didn't say I didn't forgive you. I just said I wished you would shut up.

I think it is almost a miracle that it was even made in the first place.
This movie has not been played up as it should be at all. |

Scott,
Still going back and forth with "Miss Anne Thrope"? That's like
paddling with a popcicle stick... anyway, I hope your studies are
going well. The Sem is really keeping me busy. You are invited to look
at my humble Seminary Site (http://www.marsfrog.com). It's how I try
to keep people up to date on my progress.
Take care, brother and God's peace to you,
