anyone who has a heart to know the Word of God will someday dig deep
into word studies of key Bible words in order to discover the meaning
the Holy Spirit of God intends. one such word, which most Christians
do not know the meaning of is the Bible word " world " translated from
the Greek word " cosmos, " as found in Jn. 3:16.

the student of Holy Scripture will discover that, in the writings of
the Apostle John, the word is used 7 distinctly different ways, and
it's much the same way we use the word world today.

one example of the word ' cosmos, world ' in the way John uses it in
a very limited way is when he recorded the Pharisees as saying...
" the world is gone after him. " Jn. 12:19

this does not mean everyone on the face of the earth was following
Jesus on that occasion, the speakers themselves refused to do so.
it simply means a large crowd was following Jesus.

the same word ' cosmos ' translated ' world ' is seen in Jn. 1:10
.... " the world was made through Him. " here the word ' cosmos, world
' means the orderly universe and all things in it.. a distinctly
different meaning than that of Jn. 12:19 already discussed.

the word ' cosmos world ' has yet another entirely different meaning
then the two already mentioned which are of serious doctrinal
importance... 1 Jn. 5:19... " We know that we are of God, and the
whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one. "

no one born from above would ever conclude that the Bible teaches
the elect of God are in the sexual embrace whoring after Satan... John
makes that clear in the previous verse. here in 1 Jn. 5:19 the word
' cosmos, world ' means " men out of every tribe and nation but not
all tribes and nations as a whole " since the believer is not counted
in with the sons of Adam but counted in with Christ. 1 Cor. 15:22

that meaning dictates doctrinally, as in 1 Cor. 15:22 that there are
but 2 kinds of people on this earth, in this cosmos, world... those in
Adam and those in Christ... men out of every tribe and nation but not
all tribes and nations as a whole fill both classes of people and we
all live together as the wheat and the tares until the Last Day.

this being the case, we turn to Jn. 3:16 and an indepth search of
our own hearts to see if we interpret the word ' cosmos, world ' in
this verse according to the Word of God or according to our
denomination or according to our own lack of study to show ourselves
disapproved unto Him.

the Universalist will answer saying the word cosmos world means
everyone without exception because his philosophy is based in
Gnosticism and he thinks he's forgiven though the forgiven have an
entirely different theology than he... no new creation in Christ here.

the serious student of the Bible can come to but one conclusion from
the text already shown as the Apostle John by way of the Holy Spirit
has written it... and that interpretation is " men out of every tribe
and nation but not all tribes and nations as a whole. " only they are
the recipients of the Atonement of Christ since the Bible teaches
straight away that man is not saved by the will of man... Jn. 1:12,13.

that being " born from above " ( Jn. 3:3 ) comes before ever
understanding the kingdom of God which is the same as saying, as in
Acts 13:48, first one is given life by God, then and only then does he
believe... believing follows the giving of life and is not the cause
of it... the same would be to say that Lazarus gave himself life to
then respond to Jesus calling him out of the grave.

the cosmos world God so loves is the elect and they alone since the
Bible teaches God hates the wicked and their ways... Ps. 5:4-6 and
hate does not mean as some say " to love less "... but as in Ro.
9:13... if going to hell means to be loved less by God because He's
passed by men out of every tribe and nation but not all tribes and
nations as a whole then one is repeating the false doctrine he gets in
his denomination rather than studying to show himself approved unto
Him.

to be hated by God means to be " separate from Christ, excluded from
the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise,
having no hope and without God in the world. " Eph. 2:12 the term
" without God " is translated from the Greek word " atheos " from
which we get the word " atheist ". while the elect have all the God
given benefits accompanying salvation, the non-elect have none.

in the last judgement brought on the Egyptians the chosen people of
God put blood on their doorways so death would " passover " them.
only those who are covered by the blood of Christ are and will be
" passed over " for death in the Lake of Fire on Judgement Day.

the " whosoever " of Jn. 3:16 means Gentiles as well as Jews. and
it's absolutely true that he who believes shall not perish ( men out
of every tribe and nation but not all men of every tribe and nation )
because believing in Jesus Christ is God's doing, not man's. Jn. 6:29.
making a decision for Christ in order to be saved gives man the glory
for the doing... he saved himself by his own personal achievement but
can not explain how God saved at least these 4 Bible prophets while
they were yet fetuses...

these are Jacob, David, Jeremiah and John the Baptist... salvation
is unconditional just as Jesus taught in Luke chapter 4 and
as John records in Jn. 15:16. grace is " freely bestowed " Eph. 1:6
and not " conditionally bestowed " as the Fundamentalists so teach.

all of the glory goes to God and man is but " dead in trespasses and
sins " and will remain this way in Adam unless God so chooses to grant
him pardon... does the Holy Spirit so teach that man is his own
co-redeemer by ' making a decision for Christ ' ? ... by his '
accepting Jesus as his Lord and Savior ' or does the Holy Spirit
approve of man placing conditions on grace " freely bestowed " ?

to take the glory for oneself by the good work of co-redemption
is to call God a liar... those who are saved are those who believe the
Word of God... that grace is " freely bestowed " ... no conditions
attached.

as Jesus says in Jn.15:19... " "If you were of the cosmos, the
cosmos would love its own; but because you are not of the cosmos, but
I chose you out of the cosmos, therefore the cosmos hates you. "
men out of every tribe and nation but not all men of every tribe and
nation.

again Jesus says, making a distinction between those in Adam and
those in Christ... " the Spirit of truth, whom the cosmos world cannot
receive, because it does not behold Him or know Him, [but] you know
Him because He abides with you, and will be in you. " Jn. 14:17

who is it then who are given eternal life as in Jn. 3:16 ? those
who believe... men out of every tribe and nation but not all men out
of every tribe and nation as a whole. believing in Christ comes after
being given eternal life Jn. 3:3; Acts 13:48. of which the cosmos
world in Adam can not lay claim. remember who does the choosing...

Jn.15:16; 15:19; Eph. 1:4 by grace " freely bestowed. " all of
glory goes to God in Christ Jesus. man is " dead " in sin ( Eph. 2:1 )
and can not initiate life in himself so to say that he believed of his
own will when it is God who chooses and saves those in Adam of the
cosmos world of atheos, of His good pleasure. Eph. 1:3-12
