A pervert, huh? John1212 (aka johnseattle2@yahoo.com aka

You wanna talk scholars? Try these on for size: Rev. Dr. Tony

Wheatley, Rev. Dr. John B Cobb, Jr., Rev. Dr. James B. Nelson, Rev.
Dr. Karen Lebacqz, Rev. Harry L. Holfelder, Rev. Dr. Janet Edwards,
Bishop Stanley E. Olson...etc., etc., etc. Are you going to tell me

miles of post graduate degrees behind them are wrong and you are
right?

I do? What "modern translation" do I have, John? Can you see into my

Can you see those too?

Inever said it is a puzzle - but even if it *were* a puzzle, the

No big - just find a good online Hebrew-Greek Bible concordance
(Strong's, Vine's work fine) and you're on your way. But you are too
lazy to do it, aren't you?

Obviously you can't read. Obviously you refeuse to look into the

Let's see...your "cop buddy" wouldn't be "Soi" the security guard in

Who's the one "making it up" as they go, John1212?

Red herring.

Has nothing to do with the fact that all of those people with
"reverend" in front of their names are learned and experienced bible
scholars. It also has nothing to do with the fact that you claimed
there are no Bible scholars who see the Scriptures (that are allegedly
condemnatory toward homosexuality) as I do.

Nice try.

Anyone who has been bought by the blood of Christ has been saved.
According to Peter, they can deny Him & lose their salvation.

I've never denied that Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the only Son of God
Who died as an atonement for my sins is my Savior and Lord. Never.
And I never will.

Every time you deny or twist or pollute His teaching (the Bible)
when you find it convenient (like your comments about Romans 1
referring to temple prostitutes)
you deny Him.

2 Peter 2:
20  For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through
the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again
entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them
than the beginning.
21  For it had been better for them not to have known the way of
righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy
commandment delivered unto them.
22  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The
dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to
her wallowing in the mire.

I suggest you study this Scripture very carefully.
osas is a dangerous doctrine.

2 Peter 2:2:1  But there were false prophets also among the people,
even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall
bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them,
and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

"denying the Lord that bought them"
"swift destruction"

The thing you don't get is that by taking the words on the page
literally you have become a false teacher.

According to your false doctrine, you call the Scriptures a lie.

No, I don't. You're problem is that you're too lazy to look deep into
the Scriptures. You don't seem to get that the words on the page of
the Bible version you prefer may not match what the original languages
were saying. "Study to show thyself approved" doesn't mean "read and
take literally the words on the page" - it means study, it means dig
deep, it means become a student, not a reader.

According to your false doctrine God cannot destroy anyone who has
been bought by Christ.

That's a lie.

So which is it?
You or Scripture?
I'll believe Scripture

Fine. But you have to understand what it's really saying, first.

Quote:

Your attempt to nullify Scripture is an
abomination.

I've never done any such thing. And I never would. The problem with
literal Bible version readers like yourself is that you're too
stubborn to take the Bible for what it is and was originally intended
to be - you'd rather be lazy and read what Bible version editors tell
you it really says. That's not very smart.

What makes you so much smarter than many college professors and
scholars?

Oh, I don't. But when you see the list below, you may think twice
about that statement...

Do you think you are the only one in history who has studied the
Bible?

Absolutely not. Do you think that you and a whole bunch of other
literal Bible-readers have cornered the market on understanding it?

You should try reading some of what Rev. Tony Campolo and Bishop John
S. Spong and Rev. William Stayton and Bishop Melvin Wheatley and Rev.
Dr. John B Cobb, Jr. and Rev. Dr. James B. Nelson and Rev. Dr. Karen
Lebacqz and Rev. Harry L. Holfelder and Rev. Dr. Janet Edwards and
Bishop Stanley E. Olson (and on and on and on) all have to say about
the Bible and homosexuality. Are you going to tell me that every one
of these saved, ordained by God, Biblical scholars with miles of post
graduate degrees behind them are wrong and you are right?

Puhleeeze...

To quote you: "What makes you so much smarter than many college
professors and scholars?"

Study this word: repent.

What does studying God's Word and repenting have to do one with the
other? When one has repented of sin and accepted the Lord Jesus
Christ as their Savior and His sacrifice on the cross as atonement,
one has the Holy Spirit and the peace that passes all understanding.
I study the Word correctly *because* I have all of that - not to
*attain* that. People who are in need of salvation don't study the
Word to get to salvation, doofus.

That doesn't mean that if youy're gay it's ok to remain that way, it
means to turn the other way.

You forgot to say "in my opinion". The Word of God says nothing of
the sort.

You will go to any lengths to remain gay even to the destriuction of
your own soul.

I'm a Christian who happens to be gay - IOW, I'm a Christian first,
and everything else is secondary.

I pity you.

I don't need, nor want, your pity. It's you who should be pitied
because you think yourself to be knowledgeable in the Word without
understanding the heart of the Word.

I know what it says

You prove on a regular basis that you don't.

& I don't try to change its meaning in order to
justify my way of life.

Yeah...suuurre you don't...hypocrite.

Of course I care what God thinks. It's people's opinions I couldn't
care less about.

You're a liar.
But I'm not surprised since that's what Romans says.

Romans 1 is talking about idol worship and what happens to those who
engage in such. Stop trying to turn the truth of God - His Word -
into something it was never intended to be just so you can justify
your prejudices and hatred for those who make you uncomfortable.

You think way too highly of yourself.
I'm very comfortable.

Quote:
The
only one who is lying about the Word of God here is you.

As I've said before, you are a liar.
But you have to justify yourself.

Galatians 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not
fulfil the lust of the flesh.

And then Paul goes on to say:

17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against
the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye
cannot do the things that ye would.
18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.
19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these;
Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,
20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife,
seditions, heresies,
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the
which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that
they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the
affections and lusts.

hatred, hmmmm.....
You hate me because I expose your lies.

Psalm 111:9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his

Anyone who calls themselves "reverend" has no credibility.
That is a title for God, not man.
