According to the Universal House of Justice: "For many of His addresses
included in 'The Promulgation of Universal Peace' and 'Paris Talks', for
example, no original authenticated text has yet been found.'
In email conversations I have asserted that "Promulgation of Universal
Peace" and "Paris Talks" are not writings because they are transcribed
talks. But, authenticated, they become part and parcel to the body of works
collectively referred to as the Bahá'i Writings. They can never be pilgrims'
notes for many, many reasons.
Others appear to differ with my assertion. Here is what one reader says:
"It is more accurate to call them 'mostly pilgrim's notes' than 'the
Writings.'"
Firstly, the House only refers to "many of His addresses" in the two books
as unauthenticated. That is not the same thing as "mostly".
Also, it seems entirely and completely inaccurate to refer to those talks in
the same breath as pilgrims' notes. There are no "pilgrims" involved in any
of the notes taken, is one reason.
Moreover, being unauthenticated does not make them pilgrims' notes.
So the authenticated portions of those books are "Baha'i Writings", in my
opinion.
Anybody?

_Some Answered Questions_ would be an example of a collection of
authenticated talks.
Writings, or Scripture (its synonym), would imply to me that the text
was originally written, or dictated to an amanuensis, for the purpose of
being read.

Hi Richard.
It appears to me you think that the beginning of each talk words such as
these appear: "11 April 1912, Talk at Home of Mr. and Mrs. Edward B. Kinney.
780 West End Avenue, New York, Notes by Hooper Harris". Apparently you
think Hooper Harris was somehow instrumental is the production of the talk
in the compilation of talks "Promulgation of Universal Peace". Is that it?
I would refer you to "Mahmud's Diary" if that is what you believe.
