If anyone is interested in joining another Buddhist group to have
genuine discussions, this one is for all Buddhist traditions (other
than NKT) including Tibetan Buddhism.

Yes Julian, I see the irony too... but maybe you don't know much
about that organisation -- some people who've got involved with them
seem to have been badly disturbed mentally afterwards.

You mean so called "Tibetan" Buddhism?

Yes, I am aware that it's predeliction for black magick and mumbo jumbo
appeals to the mentally disturbed and in somecases is thought to be
actually
responsible for said condition.

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

Perhaps many people are not ready for the concentration that NKT places on
or encourages in the Tantric arts. Perhaps these people are too emotionally
attached to their sexual function to keep mindfulness ahead of identifying
copulation activities as a satiation of the root-need. Just a guess.

i think Julian does have a clue...

might i yammer a bit?

NKT supports a meditation on a "diety" that is quite secular,
triumphalistic, a "one true way", and the official Gelug support the
Ris.Med. nonsectarian way....but the thing is genuine Ris.Med. allows
dissent - the "loons" with their "one true way" might have something
to offer
as far as insights into life....Ris.Med. came about because there were
so many
"one true way" s....."Ris.Med" translates literally as "No Way" -
short hand
for "no *one* true way"....the application however is to practice each
path
as if it was the way, so understand it before thinking of getting rid
of the baby with the bath water...

The Gelug aspire to be part of the Ris. Med tradition - those in the
Gelug who want to
impose a religious ban and censorship on a bigoted movement merely
echo what they accuse the Shuganites of...

"Ris.Med." means "no one true path".

The Kagyu, Nyingma, and Sakya are absolutely "Ris.Med"- , in the last
century the Gelug have
tried to be ris.med, as there was a connection there going back a
century or two.

The Gelug were a schism from the Kagyu - the NKT as a schism from the
Gelug is no big deal.

The bullshit gets delt with in the process.....

ris med

- capice?

- n.

Ignorance is the root of mental disturbance and is definitely
responsible for said condition.
