" And the Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind
to all, able to teach, patient when wronged,

with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps
God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,

and they may come to their senses and escape from the snare of the
devil, having been held captive by him to do his will. " 2 Ti 2:24-26

one of the most incongruous doctrines ever to be taught from the
pulpit these days ( as well as Newsgroups ) is summed up in the phrase
" God does not want robots so He gave us ' free will ' to choose
Christ or not ".

coming to Holy Scripture with this or any preconceived conclusion
is already bad practice and is the seed of error.

such is the case with the ' robot ' doctrine of free will.

from the passage of 2 Tim. 2:25 it is plainly stated that the
opposition to the Word of His grace ( Acts 14:3 ) that they are not in
their senses as they reject the grace of God being that these are in
" the snare of the devil "...

this snare of the devil has " them held captive by him to do his
will " v.26

rejecting the Word of His grace is the outcome of doing the will of
Satan... for that is what his captives do according to 2 Tim. 2:24-26

the devil's captivity leads him to " fulfill the lusts of his
flesh"... " to fulfill the desires of the flesh and of the mind "...
because he lives " according to the prince of the power of the air
"... he is therefore " dead in trespasses and sins. " Eph. 2:1-3

in the Light of Scripture, the notion that God doesn't want 'robots'
stems from those inside the sheepfold of their good shepherd as they
spew their most precious doctrine of free will... all the while
fulfilling the lusts of their mind to overthrow the Word of His grace.

the devil has them in his snare doing his will as in 2 Tim. 2:24-26
and this most certainly is being a robot.

these will worshippers go on to say that God can not judge anyone
fairly unless they have free will.

yet, the Bible teaches plainly that man is conceived in sin
( Ps. 51:5 ) that he is brought forth in iniquity, that from the womb
he is speaking lies. Ps. 58:3. man is said to be " judged already "
( Joh. 3:18 ) so the argument of the Arminian falls to the floor
concerning God judging people fairly. Ro. 9:11ff says this so well.

he is said by Jesus that he is of the same nature as his father the
devil ( Joh. 8:44 ) wanting to do his desires. this is being the
devil's robot.

as a dead man doesn't initiate life in his dead body and neither
does the dead human spirit initiate life in itself and come running to
Jesus... note the case of Lazarus. the human spirit is dead in
trespasses and sins. ( Eph. 2:1 ) it requires the Living God to make
it alive.

since man is the object of the wrath of God from conception
( Ps. 51:5 ) since he is in the snare of the devil at his will,
( 2 Tim. 2:26 ) the will worshippers only out is to agree with
Scripture... but he won't.

**************************************************

this begs the question... ' with such plainly worded Scripture how
is it that will worshippers reject this ? '

quite simply... these are in " the snare of the devil, having been
held captive by him to do his will. " 2 Ti 2:24-26

****************************************************

a few other facts about free will... God warned Adam beforehand not
to take from the Tree of Knowledge and Adam, of his free will, quickly
opted for obedience to Satan. God did not make Adam His ' robot '...
Adam chose to violate God's only revealed command... just as God
haters choose to be disobedient towards God. God haters aren't forced
by God to curse Him, they do it of their own ' free will, ' which is
done in obedience to Satan's will, in which he is ensnared.

Noah preached to the world that the judgement of God against them
was to come ( 2 Pet. 2:5 ) and of their own ' free will,' these
ancient peoples chose not to turn from their disobedience and drowned
because of themselves.

as Jesus says " you are unwilling to come to Me, that you may have
life. " Joh. 5:40. man has been blaming God all along for man's own
obstinate will.. " And this is the judgment, that the light is come
into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for
their deeds were evil. " Joh. 5:19

while one of the most direct statements in all of Scripture declares
that man is saved by the will of God and that his will has nothing to
do with it, ( Jn. 1:12.13 ) yet the will worshipers are not moved by
the Holy Spirit to search the Scriptures testing their own
doctrines...

this reveals the true nature of unbelievers... the Holy Spirit
glorifies Jesus Christ. the lack of His indwelling reveals one
dedicated to the things of the natural man, such as will worship.

" To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to
this word, it is because no light is in them. " Is. 8:20
