I purpose a challenge to a KJVO Fundamentalist Christian on the following
topic.
Resolved. The King James version is not God's only Bible for the English
speaking people
I will argue in favor and my opponent will oppose. I'd like a 2 week time
frame in between statements, and a concurrent form of 4-5 rounds.
I will arguing these and many other points in my rebuttal of the KJVO view.
1. How did people get saved before 1611?
2. Can you explain why the KJV includes the word "Corn" when "Corn" was not
in Egypt at the time of the Bible?
3. Can you explain why the KJV says that "God Repented from evil"?
4. Can you explain Ex 20:13 where the KJV forbids killing an insect? Yet the
NKJV and all modern translations do not?
5. Can you explain what "Gay clothing is?"
6. Can you tell me what a Unicorn looks like?
7. Is/was the Latin Vulgate the "word of God"? Why or why not? (Note: the
Latin Vulgate was the standard Bible, by which all else was compared, more
universally and for a longer period of time than the KJV has been)
8. Is/was the Septuagint (LXX) the "word of God"? Why or why not? (Note:
despite its obvious imperfections and inclusion of apocryphal books, the KJV
translators still called it "the word of God".
9. Is/was the Geneva Bible, the Great Bible, Matthew's, Tyndale's, etc. the
"word of God"? Why or why not?
10. If scripture is the sole authority for matters of faith and doctrine,
then by what authority should anyone accept the doctrine of KJV-onlyism?
Since scripture does not teach the doctrine of KJV-onlyism, is it not then
an extra-Biblical doctrine? Why should we accept a doctrine needing a second
authority, proclaimed by those who argue that there is only one authority
for matters of doctrine in the first place?

Please note that I am not attacking the KJV Translation, for its a very good
work. I have myself 1 Print KJV Bible and a KJV Bible on all my computers.
he KJV is a good work. But its not the most reliable translation, nor is it
the only translation.
