Saina Nehwal enters quarter final: Women Badminton

fourth seed Chen Wang of Hong Kong . Saina Nehwal defeated fourth seed
Chen Wang of Hong Kong to move into the quarterfinals of the women's
singles.

the quarterfinals of the women's singles.
Wang Cheng of Hong Kong was eliminated when she was defeated by young
Saina Nehwal of India in a disappointing three games 19-21, 21-11,
11-21."I regret because this is my last Olympic Games as I am already
32 years old," Wang
said. "I expected I could be the top eight but it's a pity I could not
get my target."
Saina, ranked 15, defeated Wang 21-19 11-21 21-11 in a grueling pre-
quarterfinal contest at the Beijing University of Technology Gymnasium
in Beijing.After first two easy encounters, Saina had to bring her out
best, to get the better of World No. 4 Wang.
Duo shuttlers played their best of games and were neck to neck in the
first game till 19 points when Saina stepped up the accelerator to
seal the game with two consecutive points.
Seeded and Olympic hope of China Wang took full advantage of the 18-
year-old Indian's lapse of concentration in the second game and level
the scores.With stamina rejuvenated Saina came back strongly in the
decider and raced on to 6-0 lead. She was also helped by Wang's high
number of unforced errors in the decider.There onwards there was no
looking back for Saina as she booked her last eight place with ease
with some crafty placement and punch shots ,immaculate drop shots.
