|
|
a few facts from the Holy Scriptures concerning the " prince of the
power of the air... " Eph. 2:2.
***************************************************************************************
Satan, " the devil " is a created angelic being, who, before his
rebellion against his Creator, enjoyed " the seal of perfection, full
of wisdom and perfect in beauty " ... an " anointed cherub " who
was in the Garden of Eden before the fall of Adam, having been kicked
out of heaven and fellowship with God, and the voice of the literal
snake which beguiled Eve. Ez. 14:1-19 cp. Gen. 3:1-5.
his beauty corrupted him and he though himself above God, and upon
the Almighty discovering his sin, Satan was banished from his place
along side the Throne of the Most High, forever. there is no pardon
for sin with angelic beings who sinned along with Satan. Rev. 20:10
his powers are still with him as an angelic being superior to fallen
man, ( 1 Th. 2:18 ) those powers are supremely evil. ( Jn. 8:44 ) by
right of conquest over man ( Jn. 16:11 ) being the cause of tempting
our first parents, who's free will quickly chose his enticing words
over that of the Living God; he is therefore referred to as " the
spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. "
" now working " is in continuous present tense.
that Satan is called " the prince of the power of the air " is a
statement wrangled over by many expositors as to the meaning of this
text... quite simply, for Satan to be " the prince of the power of the
air " can only mean that his princeship is like that of no other
spirit prince... Satan's princeship is global and encompasses all time
from his fall until the Last Day, which no earthly prince can so lay
claim.
this conclusion is gathered from the word " power, " which refers
to having not only the ability but also the authority to hold
un-regenerate man in his grip from which they can not get away
being they are of the same nature as Satan himself wanting to do the
desires of Satan. compare Jn. 8:43,44 with 2 Tim. 2:26.
the Lord Jesus Christ is called in Holy Scripture, among many Names,
that of Prince. ( Acts 5:31 ) being Eternal God and Son of the Most
High, the reign of Messiah Jesus is that of God Himself... a most
envious exalted position of which Satan thought himself above from
before time began as we read in Ez. 28:1-19.
because he is " the ruler of this world " ( Jn. 12:31 ) and " the
god of this world " ( 2 Cor. 4:4 ) it is evident that " the whole
world lies in [the power of] the evil one, " that being, Satan...
he comes disguised as " as an angel of light " ( 2 Cor. 11:14 )
" blinding the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the
light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
2 Cor. 4:4. this well describes his power over fallen man who is
caught in his snare ( 2 Tim. 2:26 ) anywhere on the globe man is found
and in any period of time.
for these reasons stated in Holy Scripture concerning the far
reaching power of Satan over un-regenerate man, it is a simple thing
to see that no work of un-regenerate man can save him from the devils
grip... man does not " accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior " since the
Holy Scripture declares to the contrary... Satan has him blinded as to
the means of salvation ( 2 Cor. 4:4 ) and thus man thinks himself his
will is free all the while he is bound by Satan's will. 2 Tim. 2:26.
this is the " blindness " spoken of in 2 Cor. 4:4.
he thinks some " sinner's prayer " earns him grace as he redefines
grace as some work of a smart man leaving out those less smart such as
the mentally impaired, comatose patients, aborted fetuses and the
like. he does not see this as a boast of the flesh, but God does.
Ro. 4:2
he thinks himself above all that as he falls for the same beguiling
as our first parents... " you will be like God " redeeming yourself...
thus, God prevented them from reaching the Tree of Life.
when you meet someone preaching Satan's gospel saying " God loves
you and has a perfect plan for your life if you will only make a
decision for Christ " ... all contrary to Ps. 5:4-6 and Jn. 1:12,13
just to name a few verses, you have met someone doing Satan's will in
redefining grace to be the work of man as the means to salvation.
man is cut off from reaching the Tree of Life through means devised
by Satan... " Salvation belongs to the Lord " ( Ps. 3:8 ) |
