Don't you get it; if you have to "save" something or "preserve" it,
it's already too late. Orthodoxy is a "growing" and "alive" faith. It
doesn't have to be "saved." Maybe Hellenism does?

Interesting...well... maybe. But in reading over many of the posts it
seems to me to be a forum for whiners and complainers. I'm not sure
how this can possibly save "anything" let alone the GOC. Just my two
cents, mind you. |

Yes, the GOA has a priest problem. I believe the average age of the
GOA priest is 75+. The OCA & Antiochians turned to more converts. If
the GOA wants to continue to insist on Greek and Hellenism, then they
better do a better job of recruiting their own.

issues. I was just reading one priest talking about the shortage of
priests in hte gOA and what should be done and other real issues.

There are a lot of topics. I only read a few but it seems that the |
people on that forum, priests and laity, are very involved in preventing
splits and promoting togetherness. |

This seems to be an outlet for disgruntled parishioners who have
issues with their Metropolitan Evangelos. In the era of the Web, it's
easy to set up such a forum. That's not to say that the sentiments
expressed therein are either prevalent or valid. I don't think this
holds much interest for the broader Orthodox community. As the saying
goes, "It sounds like a personal problem to me."
The following is from the website, and summarizes the intent behind it
rather clearly:
"Saving Our Greek Orthodox Faith" is dedicated to exposing abuses by
Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey, and how these abuses negatively
affect the Greek Orthodox Faith within his Metropolis. You may post
complaints and special feelings pertaining to Metropolitan Evangelos
on our Message Forum that has been established. You may also download
a concern letter which you can forward to His All Holiness,
Bartholomew, Ecumenical Patriarch; and to His Eminence, Archbishop
Demetrios. Your involvement is important and there is a list of simple
