The first foundations of the Assembly of God
The Assembly of God is a living organism. The Assembly of
God is born, and it consists of all the people whom Jesus has
baptized by the Holy Spirit. Through the Holy Spirit they have
got the new life in Christ and been born again. The Assembly
of God is the Body of Christ, and all that belong to Jesus are
limbs in this body. God has set the members, each one of them,
in the body, even as He willed. 1 Cor. 12:18.
The Assembly of God is no Pentecostal church. Please, consider
what these words "the Assembly of God" in the reality imply.
The Assembly of God must be the same as the Body of Christ.
1 Cor. 12:12-30. The Pentecostal preachers have during 100
years preached a wrong doctrine about the Assembly of God.
The Assembly of God is born, not made by organizing. The
Assembly of God was born on the day of Pentecostal, when
Jesus' first disciples were born again through that Jesus baptized
them by the Holy Spirit. The Spirit gave them the new life in
Christ so that they became born anew. Since then, the Assembly
of God has lived here on the earth generation after generation.
When God created the first man, Adam, he breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life; and man becomes a living soul.
Genesis 2:7. When Jesus baptizes us by the Holy Spirit it is a
new creating act. The Spirit gives us the new life in Christ and
makes us to new creations. "So then if anyone is in Christ, that
one is a new creation; the old things have passed away; behold,
all things have come to be new!" 2 Cor. 5:17. Earlier we have
been only created beings, now we are relatives to the Creator.
Jesus' Father becomes our Father, and we are all brothers and
sisters in Christ.
In this way we enter the Assembly of God. We are born into
the Assembly of God and belong to God's family. "For through
Him we both have access by one Spirit to the Father. So, then,
you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow
citizens of the saints and of the household of God, being built
up on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ
Himself being the cornerstone, in whom all the building being
fitly joined together grows into a holy temple in the Lord, in
whom you also are being built together into a dwelling place
of God in the Spirit." Eph. 2:18-22.
This has nothing to do with registers and memberships cards
of the free churches. Any pastor or any free church does not
need to make decision for membership in the Assembly of God.
God has made this decision a long time ago, before he created
the world. Eph. 1:3-14. Membership in any free church is not
necessary.
The new birth is no adoption as it says in the English Bible.
In that case we would not be God's children, only God's
adoptive children. And God would be only our adoptive father.
Who is then our real Father? In Swedish we have also the word
'adoption' with the same spelling, but it occurs nowhere in the
Bible.
There cannot be more than one Assembly of God on a place.
For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body. 1 Cor.
12:12-13. Rom. 12:4-5.
Dividing the Assembly of God because of differences in the
doctrine, it is not possible. The same doctrine is valid for all
of Assembly. There is only one God's gospel, and it is valid
for all people. Rom. 12:4-5. 1 Cor. 12:12. "I wonder that you
are so quickly turning away from the One having called you in
the grace of Christ to another gospel, which is not another of
the same kind; if not there are some troubling you, even
determined to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or
an angel out of Heaven, should preach a gospel to you beside
the gospel we preached to you, let him be accursed."
Gal. 1:6-9. 3:26-28. Eph. 4:15-16.
Using party names in conjunction with revival meetings is
unsuitable in the highest degree. It confuses people so that they
do not understand what revival is. They can speak about revival
and wonderful meetings with song and music, but they do not
understand what revival is. Revival is the restoration of the
Assembly of God. All Christians must come out from Babylon
the great. The Lord Jesus Christ is perfect, and his name does
not need to be completed with any party label.
