The right Foundation
The relationship between the Free-Churches and the Catholic
Church is now evident. The Free-Churches seek fellowship with
the Catholic Church and its false priesthood against which the
old revival pioneers were fighting!
"And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY,
BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS
AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH." Rev. 17:5.
The great whore is the Catholic Church, and other churches
are her daughters. No church is founded on God's word, not
even the Free-Churches that have come into existence about
true revivals from God.
"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is
Jesus Christ" 1 Cor. 3:11. The foundation of the Assembly of
God is Jesus Christ and his propitiatory sacrifice on the cross.
We enter the Assembly of God by receiving Jesus Christ as our
personal Saviour and be born of the Holy Spirit. A thing founded
on another foundation cannot be any Assembly of God. Those
who use the Assembly of God as a name of their church, they
have no right to do it because the Assembly of God is no church.
On which foundation are the churches built? When they built the
Baptist Church, then they took the truth of baptism and laid it as a
foundation for building of churches, and when the Pentecostal
Movement came, they took the truth of the baptism with the Holy
Spirit, as a foundation, for building of new churches. (If the
Pentecostalists had really understood the truth of the baptism with
the Holy Spirit, then the Pentecostal churches had never been built.
This truth is incompatible with the view of the Assembly of God
that they have within the Pentecostal Churches and other churches).
Taking out a bible-truth from its context and use it as a foundation
for building of a church that is outside the Bible's teaching.
If the Baptist Churches were assemblies of God, then no one could
be a Christian without to be a member of a Baptist Church, and if
the Pentecostal Churches were assemblies of God, then no one could
be a Christian without to be a member of a Pentecostal Church, or
else he would be outside the Assembly of God, the Body of Christ.
Many Christians think that it is too loosely that have no membership
cards and no register. This is also the devil's opinion. He does not
like the Christians to roam freely. No, he wants to have them in a
religious organization, for the purpose he can have them under his
control. This tactic the devil has used so long time now, so that the
Christians ought not to let him deceive them anymore.
When God awakes and renews his people, then it is not his purpose
to establishment and building of new churches, nor that the revival
shall be limited to a certain church. No. God's purpose with the
revival is to awake all of them up whom are willing to wake.
In Mark 13:37 Jesus says, "What I say unto you, I say unto all,
Watch! "
Nevertheless, the devil is cunning. When he is not able to put out
the fire of revival, then he wants to set limits to the revival and
confine the revival to a religious organization. One trick he has
used, is to give the revival a new name. When the devil has
enticed God's people to accept a new label, then he has limited
the revival. The revival is limited to those who accept the new
party label. The preachers become confusing and they do not
dare preach the truth of the Body of Christ.
When God's people begin to organize new churches, they have
already come on the side of God's purpose. The Body of Christ
consists of all those who are born anew and love Jesus. Which
other would it be? Where else is the boundary between the
Assembly of God and the world?
When God does something new, people are ready to scribble on
God's work, and to give God's work a new name. These names
and party labels are not so innocent as they can seem to be.
Behind them is a trick of the devil. Warning of the name of a
Christian activity can seem childish and stupidly, but it is just
here that the devil does the first attack against a new revival.
God's people do not observe how the devil comes direct into the
middle of the revival by the back door. There he builds up his own
activity and mixes his own activity with God's work. He begins so
discreetly: It is not time to establish a church? He wants to give
principles and certain rules. As if it is not enough that follow
God's word. The rules and principles that we need in the Body
of Christ, are to read in the Bible. Any other rules and principles
are not necessary.
So it was when the "Pentecostal Revival" came. Although the
"Pentecostalists" had met Jesus to renewal and had received
spiritual gifts and had met opposition from the churches, they did
not succeed be free from the churches' false doctrine about the
Assembly of God. Therefore, they were not able to make any
real counterattack against the harlot-churches. They used the
shield of faith, but they did not use the sword of the Spirit in
that way as they ought to do.
When they accepted the name "Pentecostalists" and began to
establish organizations, which they meant were assemblies of
God, then the devil exulted. These Pentecostalists were near to
be free from the religious harlot-being, but now he had ensnared
them again. The devil knew that when these Pentecostalists had
been bound up to their own organization, then they were not able
to combat and unmask the religious harlot-being. It was only a
matter of time when the revival would take an end.
The simple fact is that a revival cannot continue under such
circumstances. If the Lord sends a new revival, then it must be a
new breaking out and a new confrontation against the churches.
A revival cannot continue for any longer time within a denomination
or a church. It is as to put a lighted candle into a closed paper-bag.
The candle-flame either goes out because of lack of oxygen, or the
candle-flame set fire to the paper-bag. If the church is not able to
destroy the revival, then the revival will destroy the church through to
expose its false doctrine. Churches and denominations cannot endure
God's gospel if it is not mixed up of their own false doctrines.
The churches want to have a form of godliness, for the purposes
that people may think that the churches are from God. Therefore,
the Church can allow a spiritual awakening as long as the leadership
can have the revival under control.
