Hi, Heideana. Those Timex posts are just spam. Same ones
in a whole bunch of other newsgroups. But welcome to
alt.religion.gnostic. We're in a deep lull at the moment, with
not much going on, so let's say that there _was_ a newly
discovered Gospel of Timex. It probably wouldn't be one of the
gnostic gospels, since gnosticism stakes its hopes on
eternity, not time, frex in Marcus' idea that years and seasons
are the Demiurge's futile attempt to imitate "the Ogdoad
above." Quoting from Irenaeus' _Against Heresies_ 1.17.2. The
whole passage reads like so:

... the Demiurge, desiring to imitate the infinitude,
and eternity, and immensity, and freedom from all
measurement by time of the Ogdoad above, but, as he
was the fruit of defect, being unable to express
its permanence and eternity, had recourse to the
expedient of spreading out its eternity into times,
and seasons, and vast numbers of years, imagining,
that by the multitude of such times he might
imitate its immensity . They declare further, that
the truth having escaped him, he followed that
which was false, and that, for this reason, when
the times are fulfilled, his work shall perish.

Thanks for the welcome Catawumpus! I'll just chalk the watch spam as
the Demiurge's attempt to mess-up this forum...Smile

Glad to have you here, hope you'll stick around. Not very
much lately for the demiurge to be concerned with. We had a
small group of regulars, like Dreamsnake, Shriven Leper, Mouldy
Jester, and Isabella, but recently everyone seems to have
dispersed. Not sure if that's the decline of Usenet in general
-- rec.arts.books has also been at a low ebb -- or the
trouble with low-traffic NGs, where you lose a few contributors
and the place goes dead.
