Islam honors all the prophets who were sent to mankind. Muslims
respect all prophets in general, but Jesus in particular, because he
was one of the prophets who foretold the coming of Muhammad. Muslims,
too, await the second coming of Jesus. They consider him one of the
greatest of Allah's prophets to mankind. A Muslim does not refer to
him simply as "Jesus," but normally adds the phrase "peace be upon
him" as a sign of respect.
No other religion in the world respects and dignifies Jesus as Islam
does. The Quran confirms his virgin birth (a chapter of the Quran is
entitled "Mary"), and Mary is considered to have been one of the
purest women in all creation. The Quran describes Jesus' birth as
follows:
"Behold!' the Angel said, God has chosen you, and purified you, and
chosen you above the women of all nations. Mary, God gives you good
news of a word from Him, whose name shall be the Messiah, Jesus son of
Mary, honored in this world and in the Hereafter, and one of those
brought near to God. He shall speak to the people from his cradle and
in maturity, and he shall be of the righteous. She said: "My Lord! How
shall I have a son when no man has touched me?' He said: "Even so; God
creates what He will. When He decrees a thing, He says to it, 'Be!'
and it is."
[Noble Quran 3:42-47]
Muslims believe that Jesus was born immaculately, and through the same
power which had brought Eve to life and Adam into being without a
father or a mother.
"Truly, the likeness of Jesus with God is as the likeness of Adam. He
created him of dust, and then said to him, 'Be!' and he was."
[Noble Quran 3:59]
During his prophetic mission, Jesus performed many miracles. The Quran
tells us that he said:
"I have come to you with a sign from your Lord: I make for you out of
clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, and breathe into it and it
becomes a bird by God's leave. And I heal the blind, and the lepers,
and I raise the dead by God's leave."
[Noble Quran 3:49]
Muhammad and Jesus, as well as the other prophets, were sent to
confirm the belief in one God. This is referred to in the Quran where
Jesus is reported as saying that he came:
"To attest the law which was before me, and to make lawful to you part
of what was forbidden you; I have come to you with a sign from your
Lord, so fear God and obey me."
[Noble Quran 3:50]
Prophet Muhammad emphasized the importance of Jesus by saying:
"Whoever believes there is no god but Allah, alone without partner,
that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is a servant and messenger
of God, His word breathed into Mary and a spirit emanating from Him,
and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into
Heaven.

Your heading asks "Who was Jesus" and should read "Who IS Jesus"
If Muhammad was the prophet of Islam? I am confused as to how Jesus, who is
deemed by your religion to be a "Prophet" would be sent to prophecy of
another prophet, and then be waited upon to return at a second coming... as
a
prophet?
Christians call Jesus...."Jesus", or "Jesus Christ", our "Saviour". We do
not say "Peace be upon Him" as a sign of respect because Jesus IS the
Prince Of Peace. It is Jesus that gives us our peace, His Peace. We also
believe that Jesus is God.
The Holy Bible says:-
For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will
be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
"But of the Son He says, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the
righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom." Hebrews 1:8
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was
God." John 1:1
And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth."
John 1:14
There are many more verses in the Holy Scriptures confirming that Jesus is
God. .................................

How can this be so? Christians know that their only way to Salvation is
through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Jesus Christ, the King Of Kings, and Lord
of Lords. Our God is one = Omnipotent. Our God loved us so much He came in
the flesh (Jesus) and died for our sins, so that we may be saved unto
eternal life!
"He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the
Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him. John 3:36
For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the
world might be saved through Him. John 3:17
He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been
judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten
Son of God. John 3:18

The Holy Scriptures say:- |
And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of
Galilee, named Nazareth,
To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David;
and the virgin's name was Mary.
And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly
favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. And when she
saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of
salutation this should be.
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with
God. And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son,
and shalt call his name JESUS.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord
God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign
over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man?
And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon
thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also
that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.
Luke 1:28-35

The Holy Scriptures say about Jesus:-
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS
God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him;
and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and
the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the
darkness comprehended it not. John 1:1-5 (The word = Jesus)
(The Holy Bible tells us that Jesus is God in the flesh...the word. Jesus
was not created in the same way as man, He is God.)
(And man's creation):-
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his
nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7
Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I
am. John 8:58

The Holy Bible says:-
Jesus is the word of God:-
He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their
destructions. Psalms 107:20
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes
we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem
him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. Isaiah 53:4

Holy Scripture says:-
"...that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your
heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved"
Romans 10:9
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on
him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into
condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
John 5:24
The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine
enemies thy footstool. Psalm 110:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord
Jesus Christ:
By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and
rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:1-2
The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is
the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance
in the saints. Ephesians 1:18
For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in
the word of the truth of the gospel; Colossians 1:5
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which
are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 1
Thessalonians 4:13
There are many more verses in the Holy Bible concerning The Lord Jesus and
the only way to be saved is through Him.

I pray that God will open your eyes to who Jesus really is and that you will
understand the blessed hope of His calling. Jesus = Eternal Life.
